Job summary

Freedom is a leading direct mail service provider in the United States, seeking an Inkjet Technician for our Milton, WI facility on the 2nd shift. You will repair and maintain high-speed inkjet print systems integrated with web offset presses, diagnose print quality issues, and minimize downtime to maximize production efficiency.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience with industrial inkjet systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical training in printing technology, electronics, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with industrial inkjet printing systems in a web offset, direct mail, transactional printing, or commercial printing environment preferred.
• Understanding of print quality management, color consistency, and variable data printing processes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, and service documentation. Experience with PM programs and continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
• Working knowledge of Windows-based control systems and production software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift and able to lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up, align, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain high-speed inkjet print systems integrated with web offset presses.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on inkjet print heads and associated systems.
• Diagnose print quality issues including missing nozzles, streaking, color inconsistencies, and registration problems.
• Maintain and repair listed inkjet technologies: Kodak 6240, Kodak S10, Kodak S20, Kodak Prosper, Fuji 42K bar technology, MCS Eagle, EZ Inkjet 100.
• Monitor ink delivery systems, fluid management systems, print quality, and system performance during production runs.
• Perform print head cleaning, flushing, replacement, and recovery procedures.
• Work closely with press operators, maintenance technicians, and production leadership to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
• Assist with installation, upgrades, and commissioning of new inkjet equipment.
• Maintain inventory of print heads, spare parts, fluids, filters, and maintenance supplies.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance metrics.

The Inkjet Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining the company’s high-speed inkjet print systems through a combination of troubleshooting and just-in-time repairs and regular preventive maintenance.

In this position you will:
