Job summary

Freedom in Milton, WI is seeking an Inkjet Technician for the 2nd shift to repair and maintain high-speed inkjet print systems and perform preventative maintenance. You will diagnose print quality issues, manage ink delivery and system performance, and collaborate with press operators to maximize production efficiency.

The role requires a technical background, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read manuals and electrical schematics. 50 lb lifting may be required.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Technical training in printing technology, electronics, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with industrial inkjet printing systems in a web offset, direct mail, transactional printing, or commercial printing environment preferred.
• Understanding of print quality management, color consistency, and variable data printing processes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, and service documentation. Experience with PM programs and continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
• Working knowledge of Windows-based control systems and production software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift and able to lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up, align, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain high-speed inkjet print systems integrated with web offset presses.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on inkjet print heads and associated systems.
• Diagnose print quality issues including missing nozzles, streaking, color inconsistencies, and registration problems.
• Maintain and repair the following inkjet technologies: Kodak 6240, Kodak S10, Kodak S20, Kodak Prosper, Fuji 42K bar technology, MCS Eagle, EZ Inkjet 100.
• Monitor ink delivery systems, fluid management systems, print quality, and system performance during production runs.
• Perform print head cleaning, flushing, replacement, and recovery procedures.
• Work closely with press operators, maintenance technicians, and production leadership to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
• Assist with installation, upgrades, and commissioning of new inkjet equipment.
• Maintain inventory of print heads, spare parts, fluids, filters, and maintenance supplies.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance metrics.
