Job summary

Parnall Law Firm in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Research & Writing Attorney to support trial teams with legal analysis and drafting. This role emphasizes transforming research into persuasive pleadings while coordinating with multiple case teams across New Mexico.

The ideal candidate has strong research, writing, and drafting experience in personal injury or civil litigation and can work collaboratively with trial attorneys. Remote-eligible with a competitive compensation package and benefits.

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in New Mexico, or eligibility for admission.
• Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills, with ability to translate research into persuasive, well-supported drafts.
• Experience drafting motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation documents.
• Personal injury or civil litigation experience preferred; insurance defense or appellate background is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively with trial attorneys and Team Leads across multiple case teams and manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Research New Mexico and applicable law on liability, damages, coverage, and procedural issues in personal injury and premises liability matters.
• Monitor and summarize developments in New Mexico case law, statutes, and court rules relevant to the firm’s practice.
• Prepare motions, responses, briefs, and legal memoranda in support of pre-litigation and litigation case teams.
• Draft discovery-related legal analysis and assist with pleadings as needed.
• Collaborate with trial attorneys and Team Leads to identify legal issues and strengthen case positions.
• Provide research support for settlement negotiations, mediation, and trial preparation.
• Deliver timely, well-supported written work product that meets firm quality standards.
