Job summary

Silgan Specialty Packaging in Triadelphia, WV, is seeking a production operator to support molding processes and packaging operations. You will prepare production paperwork, monitor machines, perform quality checks, and ensure safety and cleanliness on the line.

The role focuses on starting up injection molding machines, collecting parts, labeling and boxing for shipment, and reporting any quality concerns. Prior experience in manufacturing is preferred, with attention to detail and teamwork.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all the duties listed below;

• Prepare production paperwork for machine start-up and operation.
• Monitor machine operation to ensure parts are collected into storage boxes and are counted correctly.
• Pull shots for quality checks following machine re-starts or as needed.
• Identify nonconformities and inform the Shift QA. (hourly checks)
• Evaluate product to ensure high quality and conformance with established standards.
• Report any food safety and quality problems or concerns.
• Evaluate and document machine performance.
• Tape boxes shut, label the boxes, and stack for shipment.
• Prepare paperwork at the end of the shift for the following shift, noting any problems or exceptions that occurred.

• Maintain a clean and safe working area.
• Perform sweeping, cleaning, sorting duties as necessary.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures
• Start up Injection molding machines
• Clean out grinders
• Trouble shoot minor machine/part issues
