Job summary

HI-LEX Controls is seeking a skilled operator trainer for its Hudson, MI facility. The role focuses on teaching safe operation of injection molding machines, verifying first-piece quality, and ensuring materials and processes meet established standards.

The successful candidate will perform in-process checks, identify non-conforming parts, and participate in preventive maintenance and TPM activities while maintaining a clean, safe work environment on third shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years experience in plastic injection molding.
• Use of hand tools, crane, grinders, calipers, and gages.
• Must be able to operate a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and handheld scanner.

Responsibilities

• Instructs operators in the safe and proper operation of all injection molding machines to produce a part conforming to all quality and production standards.
• Performs in-process checks, tests and gauges as required by control plans and operator instructions.
• Identifies out of specification components and follows non-conforming product procedures.
• Responsible for 1st piece validation for each job and correct material usage.
• Performs product problem solving and corrective actions.
• Follows all safety rules and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Notifies team leader or supervisor for equipment maintenance, repairs or calibration.
