Job summary

Ficosa North America in Cookeville, TN is seeking a Mold Setup Technician to ensure smooth production of injection molded parts. You will document new mold setups, troubleshoot process issues, and maintain cycle times while minimizing scrap.

You will also perform routine machine maintenance, inspect nozzles, and provide technical guidance to the Mold Setup Team, while adhering to safety and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, secondary education, or vocational training preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanics, electricity, machining equipment, and soldering.
• Basic understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare documentation for new molds and ensure proper implementation of setup instructions.
• Troubleshoot molding process issues, equipment stoppages, and quality concerns.
• Monitor and adjust injection molding parameters to maintain optimal cycle times and minimize scrap.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and clean molds during production.
• Inspect injection nozzles and identify mold, tooling, or equipment issues, communicating concerns to the appropriate departments.
• Provide technical support and training to the Mold Setup Team.
• Monitor production performance and report issues and results to the supervisor.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
