igus, Inc. in East Providence, RI is seeking an Injection Molding Technician to operate, set up, and optimize molding machines and processes, ensuring safe, efficient production and high quality.

You will support tooling, maintenance, and process development, install molds with cranes, troubleshoot issues, train staff, and contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in injection molding, process development, or plastics manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, tooling, processes, and automation.
• Experience developing and optimizing injection molding processes and parameters.
• Experience with industrial robots, including six-axis and linear systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, process, tooling, and equipment issues.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate injection molding machines, molds, robots, and material handling systems.
• Develop, set, monitor, and optimize machine and process parameters, including temperature, pressure, injection, and cycle times.
• Install and remove injection molds using industrial cranes in accordance with safety procedures.
• Perform machine start-ups, shutdowns, sampling, and process changes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machine, tooling, and process issues to maximize machine uptime.
• Perform minor mold/tool repairs, adjustments, polishing, and cleaning as needed.
• Develop and optimize robot and automation processes, including six-axis and linear systems.
• Conduct functional testing of machines, tools, handling equipment, and related systems.
• Monitor process parameters and implement corrective actions when required.
• Create and maintain production and process documentation.
• Support the development of injection molding processes from initial tooling through series production.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, housekeeping, and production standards.
• Participate in production meetings and provide technical input on process and equipment issues.
• Train employees on applicable processes, equipment, and work instructions.
• Operate and monitor material distribution systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
