Job summary

RESRG Automotive in Covington, GA is hiring a 2nd Shift Process Technician for its automotive facility. The role involves hands-on setup and optimization of injection molding processes, with initial training on first shift followed by a move to the 2nd shift.

Candidates must be self-directed, safety-conscious and goal-driven. Key responsibilities include operating hot runner controllers, releasing good parts at start-up, supporting tool trials and scrap reduction, and maintaining daily run

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Process Technician or similar role.
• Experience with Injection Molding.
• Experience using hand tools.
• Experience using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Experience using a computer, tablet or smartphone.

Responsibilities

• Follow all plant safety policies.
• Follow ISO/TS 16949 & ISO-14001 policies and instructions.
• Set up hot runner controllers, valve gate units and injection press equipment.
• Release good parts at start-up.
• Troubleshoot and correct process to ensure quality molded parts.
• Support engineering on tool trials and scrap reduction.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and daily run sheets.
• Read and understand documentation to install tools and support tooling.

Job description

We are hiring a 2nd Shift Process Technician for our RESRG Automotive facility in Covington, GA. This role will train on 1st Shift (Monday through Friday, 6:50 AM to 3:00 PM, with occasional mandatory weekends based on business needs) and then will move to the 2nd Shift (Monday to Friday, 2:50 PM to 11:00 PM, with occasional mandatory weekends based on business needs) after training. Pay is based on experience.

Successful candidates will be self-directed and able to manage multiple priorities.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes

• Responsible for following all plant safety policies
• Responsible for following all plant ISO / TS 16949 & ISO-14001 policies and instructions
• Setting up hot runner controllers, valve gate units and injection press and auxiliary equipment
• Releasing good parts at start-up
• Troubleshooting and correcting all aspects of the process to make quality molded parts
• Support engineering on tool trials and scrap reduction
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Maintaining daily run sheets
• Reading and understanding documentation to install tools, hot runners and valve gate units
• Reading and understanding documentation to support engineering in support scrap reduction

What You Will Need

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing this job the employee will be:

• Standing, Walking, Bending, Lifting, Laying, using Stairs/ladders to perform work, climbing
• Maximum lifting will be 50 pounds
• Work will be on concrete floors and at elevated levels if needed to perform work on mold presses

Work Environment

• The Process Technician will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and safety shoes
• The facility is temperature controlled; the normal temperature is approximately 68F during the winter and 85F during the summer
• Daily work involves working with grease, oils and other manufacturing related chemicals
• Daily work involves being in and around elevated temperatures and heat sources of up to 800F
