Job summary

Schaefer Plastics North America, LLC is hiring a Process Technician I to support safe and efficient injection molding operations. You will perform mold changes, startups, basic process adjustments, and routine troubleshooting while building proficiency with Schaefer’s machines, molds, robots, and auxiliaries.

The role requires following setup sheets, recognizing process problems, and escalating when necessary.

Qualifications

• One or more years of hands‑on manufacturing or mold-setting experience preferred.
• Injection molding experience or plastics/process training strongly preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and safe use of hand tools.
• Ability to follow setup sheets, work instructions, safety rules, and escalation procedures.
• Basic computer skills and ability to complete production records.
• Willingness to complete Schaefer’s technical training and demonstrate Level I competencies.

Responsibilities

• Complete standard mold changes and startups with guidance using approved setup sheets.
• Recognize and adjust common process and quality problems within parameters.
• Load and adjust robot programs as needed.
• Escalate issues requiring higher-level support promptly.
• Develop knowledge of resin, mold versions, and machine safety controls.
• Monitor machines to reduce downtime and scrap and ensure product quality.
• Perform mold and date-code verifications and operate auxiliary equipment.
• Set up robotic material-handling equipment appropriate to the level.
• Document production and shift activities accurately.
• Assist maintenance with troubleshooting of machines and molds.
• Follow safety requirements and maintain a clean work area.
