Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Process Engineer to develop, optimize, and validate robust plastic injection molding processes in a high-volume setting in Greeneville, TN. You will lead process development, mold trials, and validations, while driving continuous improvement across production teams to boost productivity, quality, and OEE.

The role requires 3-7 years in injection molding, strong tooling and resin processing knowledge, and hands-on experience with data-driven process control.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years in plastic injection molding process engineering or advanced process development.
• Strong knowledge of injection molding equipment, molds, tooling, and resin processing.
• Experience with process development, validation, and data-driven improvement.

Responsibilities

• Establish, validate, and document robust injection molding processes for new and existing products.
• Lead mold trials, process studies, capability analysis, and production validations.
• Analyze molding processes and implement improvements to increase productivity, quality, and OEE.
• Troubleshoot molding defects (flash, short shots, sink marks, burn marks, splay, warpage, dimension variation).
• Apply scientific molding principles and data-driven methods to establish and monitor process controls.
• Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support new product launches, process qualifications, mold validations, and ramp-ups.
• Develop and maintain standard process sheets, work instructions, validation docs, and engineering records.
• Collaborate with Quality to define process capability requirements and improve product consistency.
• Identify opportunities to reduce cycle times, scrap, downtime, and materials usage.
