Job summary

PTA Plastics is seeking an Operator to join our production team in Connecticut. The role focuses on operating plastic injection molding machines, packaging finished parts, and maintaining quality per the plan.

Responsibilities include inspecting parts, recording data, and coordinating with Molding, QA, and Engineering to ensure targets are met. A high school diploma is required, and prior molding experience is a plus. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating plastic injection molding machines is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to understand work instructions and quality plans in English to produce parts that meet specified requirements.
• Strong communication skills, including English reading, writing, and speaking, to understand work instructions and communicate with team members and supervisors.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing production demands.
• Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate plastic injection molding machines according to established procedures and guidelines.
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Inspect finished products for quality per the quality plan.
• Follow work instructions and quality plans to meet requirements.
• Monitor and control the production process to minimize waste.
• Record operational data, including scrap, in the Job Book.
• Perform secondary operations such as assembly, trimming, milling, pad printing.
• Package products at the press according to work instructions.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
• Communicate with Molding, QA, and Engineering to meet objectives.
• Follow safety protocols.
• Adhere to company policies and quality standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
