Saint-Gobain Group is seeking an Injection Molding Mold Maker Technician for a Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm schedule in Garden Grove, CA. The role offers $32.00–$55.00 per hour plus overtime and quarterly bonuses.

You will fabricate, repair, and modify precision molds used in injection molding, working closely with engineers and production teams to meet quality standards. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in plastic manufacturing, strong GD&T and CAD skills, and experience with mold components and

Responsibilities

• Build new injection molds from blueprints, CAD files and specs.
• Perform mold repairs, maintenance and modifications.
• Fabricate components using precision machining equipment (CNC mills, lathes, grinders).
• Assemble mold components with high precision and verify dimensions.
• Inspect tooling components for conformance to specs.
• Polish and finish mold cavities, cores, and inserts.

The Injection Molding Mold Maker is responsible for the fabrication, maintenance, repair, and modification of precision molds used in injection molding processes. This role requires high attention to detail, proficiency in mold tooling techniques, and experience with mold design prints. The Mold Maker will work closely with engineers, tool designers, and production teams to ensure molds meet quality and production standards.

• Build new injection molds from blueprints, CAD files, and technical specifications.
• Perform mold repairs, maintenance, and modifications as needed to support production requirements.
• Use precision machining equipment including CNC mills, lathes, grinders to fabricate components.
• Fit and assemble mold components with high precision and ensure proper functionality.
• Inspect tooling components to verify conformance to dimensional specifications.
• Polish and finish mold cavities, cores, and inserts to meet cosmetic and dimensional requirements.
• Collaborate with process engineers and tool designers to troubleshoot and resolve mold-related issues.
• Maintain proper documentation for tooling repairs, revisions, and maintenance logs.
• Ensure mold components are produced and maintained with minimal downtime to production.
• Support mold trials and validations in coordination with the production and quality teams.
• Follow and enforce all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Set up and operate a variety various tool and cutter grinders, surface grinders, manual grinder.

Shift schedule for this role: Monday - Friday; 7:00am to 3:30pm.

Is this job for you ?

• High School degree or GED (Preferred)
• 5+ years Injection Molding/Plastic manufacturing experience. (required)
• 5+ years Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD files.
• 5+ year Injection molding design and fabrication
• 4+ Strong knowledge of mold components, assembly and disassembly and Understanding of materials used in mold making (tool steel, aluminum, brass, etc.).

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $32.00 to $55.00 per hour,($66,560 to $114,400 annually) however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is up to 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $66,560 to $125,840. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
