Job summary

Saint-Gobain Group is hiring an Injection Molding Process Technician for 2nd shift (1:00pm - 9:30pm, M-F) in Garden Grove, CA. The role supports the Injection molding department and Sr. Process Technician by ensuring tooling readiness and process documentation is followed.

The ideal candidate has a High School degree and 5-10 years of Injection Molding/Plastic manufacturing experience. The job includes data capture, tooling evaluation, and continuous improvement to reduce cycle times and scrap

Responsibilities

• Assist mold setters to ensure tooling is set up and processes per documentation.
• Inspect product actual dimensions per drawings.
• Ensure production runs consistently meet critical dimensions and cosmetic criteria per sample lot size.
• Maintain 5S workspace before, during, and after each shift.
• Enter job information into the system and collect data on processing parameters; assist training of new employees.
• Evaluate tooling and provide improvement suggestions to supervisor and Sr. Process Technician.
• Improve mold setup time and cycle time.

Job description

Injection Molding Process Technician - 2nd shift 1:00pm - 9:30pm M-F, $28.00 - $40.00 per hour DOE, plus 2nd shift differential of $1.00 per hour.

Process technician provides direct support to the Injection molding department and Sr. process technician.

Manufactures close tolerance plastic parts by creating a robust injection molding process, while maintaining a low scrap rate and a high safety standard, equipment, and all quality documentation. Assist mold setters to ensure all required tooling is set up and process per documentation. Inspects product actual dimensions per drawings. Ensure production run consistently and meets all critical dimensions and cosmetic criteria per sample lot size. Maintains 5S workspace organize before, during, and after each scheduled shift.

Enter all required job information into the system. Identifies product defect, compiles data on all processing parameters and directs the training of new employees. Evaluate tooling and provide improvement suggestions to supervisor and Sr. Process Technician.

Improve mold set up time and cycle time.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $28.00 to $40.00 per hour, plus $1.00 per hour 2nd shift differential, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is up to 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $58,240 to $83,200. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
