Job summary

Summit Polymers is seeking an Engineer, Manufacturing (Molding) to lead hands-on injection molding of plastic parts for automotive interior trim. You’ll provide technical leadership to production teams, focusing on operational excellence, tooling, automation, and process development.

Responsibilities include molding tool development, automation planning, trials, and safe, high-quality production. A Bachelor's in engineering or 5 years in a molding environment is preferred; experience with Krauss

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or five years in a technical position in an injection molding environment may be considered.
Knowledge of scientific injection molding and hands-on mold process development.
Molding automation/EOAT knowledge and robot programming experience.
Knowledge of molding technologies including gas‑assist, sequential valve gate, and two‑shot molding.
Ability to read and critique drawings and contribute to high‑quality mold designs.

Responsibilities

Develop molding tool and process for new products, including design input/output reviews and optimization of mold tooling conditions.
Lead injection mold design reviews focusing on mold size, press size, manifolds, gates, cooling and ejection.
Develop molding automation plans and tooling; procure secondary equipment as needed.
Support molding trials and master mold process development; drive corrective actions.
Implement molding automation, EOAT adjustments, robot programming and interfaces to press peripherals.
Document setup sheets, process verification sheets, and robot programs.
Create Operator Instruction Sheets and support Quality Inspection Standards.
