Job summary
Schaefer Plastics North America, LLC. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain injection molding machines, auxiliaries, and facility systems.
Strong mechanical and technical ability is required, with experience in electrical, hydraulic, robotics, automation, and CMMS. The role involves performing preventive maintenance, assisting with mold changes, operating shop equipment and overhead cranes, and ensuring safety standards are followed on a 12-hour rotating shift
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic systems.
- Experience with CMMS and basic computer skills.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and related systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules.
- Complete assigned work orders using a computerized preventive maintenance system.
- Assist with mold changes on injection molding machines.
- Operate shop equipment including mills, band saws, drill presses, lathes, welders, and other maintenance tools.
- Use powered and non-powered hand tools.
- Operate overhead cranes per OSHA and company safety rules.
- Monitor and maintain facility services (water, air, electricity).
- Identify and communicate spare or replacement parts needs.
- Follow safety rules including lockout/tagout and PPE.
