Job summary

Hoffer Plastics is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 1st shift in South Elgin, IL. The role ensures operation of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment through repair and preventive maintenance to keep production running smoothly.

The starting pay is $31.00–$37.00 per hour, with 7:00am–4:00pm shift hours. Hoffer provides full training, extensive benefits, pay premiums for night shifts, and strong career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience repairing injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment (Krauss Maffei and Demag).
• Ability to work independently with strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose problems and determine corrective actions.
• Ability to read and interpret prints and diagrams; welding skills required; machining a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose downtime to minimize lost production time.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
• Coordinate with tool crib to maintain inventories and procure parts as needed.
• Maintain safety and clean working environment and follow all procedures.
