Job summary

SMC Ltd. in Kentucky seeks a Cell Lead to oversee a molding production cell, ensuring safety, quality, delivery and productivity goals are met on a day shift with 12-hour rotating shifts and two weekends per month.

You will coordinate operators, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced contract manufacturing setting. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are required, with experience in injection molding preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years in clean room environment preferred.
• Prior team lead or supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of injection molding processes, materials and equipment.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, quality specs and production schedules.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience with production reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day activities of injection molding operators.
• Meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
• Maintain a safe work environment per safety policies and LOTO.
• Monitor OEE, downtime, scrap and production output.
• Troubleshoot molding processes and equipment.
• Train and mentor operators on work instructions and safety.
• Ensure accurate production documentation and inventory transactions.
• Coordinate with Quality on inspections and corrective actions.
• Communicate status and shift hand-offs effectively.
