The Injection Molding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functioning of the injection molding operations. The supervisor will assist the manager in developing employee capabilities towards a lean production system.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Regulatory Rules.
• Manage time and attendance, conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, motivation, and disciplinary actions.
• Coach, mentor, train, and motivate staff.
• Improve production efficiencies, reduce scrap, and enhance quality.
• Understand lean manufacturing philosophy and technical aspects.
• Develop a lean culture and lead Kaizen initiatives.
• Conduct team meetings and maintain documentation.
• Promote team activities and participation.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Review previous production data to determine team requirements.
• Coordinate daily activities such as setup, mold and color changes, material requirements, and job start-up/shutdown.
• Develop and maintain team routines with weekly reviews.
• Ensure 5S standards are followed.
• Ensure shift runs to required RTO.
• Work with Team Lead to maintain polyvalence levels.
• Sign off on all first pieces.
• Develop and assist with KPI gap analysis.
• Assist and coach line QRCi with team leaders.
• Review standardized work with team leaders.
• Assist in preparing the next day’s top 5 sheet.

Required Skills/Experience

• Able to work the 3rd shift: 11 pm - 7 am.
• Manage a crew of 20-25 union employees.
• Five years of experience as a Set-up Technician or equivalent.
• Manufacturing experience in plastic injection molding.
• Leadership skills and team-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Self-disciplined with good mechanical and computer skills.
