Job summary

Randstad USA is hiring a Tooling Technician for plastic injection mold repair and maintenance in Hanover Park, IL. You will repair, troubleshoot, and return molds to production, working with manual mold shop equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and 2+ years of mold repair experience. Strong mechanical skills, teamwork, and safety compliance are essential for success; relocation assistance is available along with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience repairing plastic injection molds.
• Skilled in using manual mold shop equipment and tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Must work well within a team and communicate effectively.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair of plastic injection molds.
• Use manual machines and tooling equipment to perform corrective actions.
• Diagnose tooling issues, test molds, and track root causes.
• Maintain and track mold/component inventory levels and status.
• Store validated and non-validated tooling components appropriately.
• Document mold issues, repair solutions, and PM history to reduce downtime.
• Escalate recurring tooling failures through the proper channels.
• Follow all SOPs, safety standards, and quality procedures.
• Keep mold shop and machines clean and organized.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure tooling readiness.
• Other duties as assigned
