Job summary

ITW in Frankfort, IL is seeking a Mold Technician to set up and cycle plastic injection molding machines and related equipment, ensuring proper function and quality of parts.

The role requires 1.5+ years of mold experience or related training, ability to lift 55 lbs, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset. Knowledge of overhead crane operation and strong English communication are preferred for fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of Mold Technician Apprenticeship program or equivalent.
• Routsis Training Program completion or equivalent.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Must be able to lift 55 lbs and handle physical tasks.
• 1.5+ years of technical experience with plastic injection molding preferred.
• Strong work ethic, reliability and commitment to quality.
• Good communication in English and ability to work in a team.
• 3–5 years Mold Technician experience preferred; candidates with less experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Install molds in injection molding machines, adjust parameters and cycles for quality parts.
• Set up and adjust assembly equipment, robotics, and auxiliary equipment for proper production.
• Ensure part/material containment and quality from setup and processing parameters.
• Troubleshoot molding issues (flash, short shots, parts quality).
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis affecting product quality.
• Identify continuous improvement ideas for daily duties and cell performance.
• Disassemble and assemble mud bases as required.
• Operate tools and equipment including computer, calipers, gauges, hand tools, pallet jacks, forklifts, cranes.
• Follow safety rules and maintain clean, orderly work area.
• Perform other assigned tasks.
