Job summary

ABB is seeking an Injection Mold Technician on 2nd shift in Florida to manage plastic injection molding operations, ensure quality, and maintain 5S in the work area. You will train shift personnel and handle machine diagnostics and process improvements.

Join ABB to contribute to safe production, monitor cavitation and cycle times, perform quality checks, and keep accurate logs while upholding company standards and safety policies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years' technical experience in plastic injection molding.
  • Good interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure machines run at standard rate, cavitation, and cycle time.
  • Perform quality checks and record results for all parts molded.
  • Monitor machine safety and function; report malfunctions.
  • Load/unload product bins as needed and maintain 5S in area.
  • Complete daily logs and press reports; maintain records.
  • Diagnose production/process issues and determine corrective actions.
  • Train shift personnel on SOPs and processing techniques.

This position reports to:

Production Supervisor

Injection Mold Technician - 2nd Shift
Job Summary:

The person in this position is responsible for all aspects of plastic injection molding production on assigned shift, including training, cost, quality standards, and service. They are expected to work safely, ensure they are producing quality product, and keep up 5S in their work area.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:
  • Ensure all machines are running at a standard rate, cavitation & cycle time
  • Perform quality checks at predetermined times and record on all products being molded to ensure all parts produced are to the highest acceptable quality level
  • Monitor machines to ensure proper functions and safety.
  • Notify appropriate persons when there is a machine or tool malfunction
  • Load and unload product bins or containers as necessary
  • 5-S and daily check list form on presses and surrounding area (clean presses and surrounding area daily)
  • Complete daily molding log book (press report) and press board
  • Perform diagnostics on production process and equipment problems determining necessary corrective actions
  • Provide training to shift personnel regarding standard operating procedures and processing techniques.
Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a technical capacity in plastic injection molding
  • Working knowledge of production flow and processes
  • Adequate interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Injection Molding Technical Education preferred
  • Leadership training is preferred
