Job summary

Pretium Packaging - USA is seeking a Process Setup Specialist for plastic extrusion and injection blow molding on Day Shift in Bethlehem, PA. You will prepare, install, and calibrate molds and tooling, optimize process parameters, and work across teams to meet quality and throughput targets safely.

You will lead mold changes, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and maintain tooling with precision. Strong hands-on skills and CMMS experience are essential for uptime and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in manufacturing with hands-on blow molding experience.
• Sharp mechanical troubleshooting skills with hand tools.
• Experience with CMMS and preventive maintenance scheduling (MaintainX preferred).

Responsibilities

• Execute mold care: clean, polish, lubricate molds, pins, and cores to remove flash and debris.
• Lead mold installation, alignment and removal; manage changeovers and device swaps.
• Configure blow molding conditions and adjust temperature, parison programs, and settings.
• Inspect parts, verify specifications with precision tools; weigh finished parts.
• Record production data, downtime, and material usage; support maintenance.
• Train teammates; collaborate with Maintenance, Production and Quality.
• Support equipment installations and process improvements; promote safe behaviors.

At Pretium, your craftsmanship and problem-solving ensure every mold change, setup, and adjustment translates into safe, high-quality products that make a difference.What you’ll achieveAs the process setup specialist for plastic extrusion and injection blow molding, you’ll prepare, install, and calibrate molds and tooling; optimize process parameters; and collaborate across teams so production hits quality and throughput targets—safely and reliably.Core responsibilitiesExecute meticulous mold care: clean, polish, and lubricate molds, pins, locking rings, and cores to remove flash, plastic buildup, and debris.Lead mold installation, alignment, and removal; manage changeovers and accessory device swaps.Configure blow molding conditions—temperature profiles, parison programs, and blow pin settings.Resolve defects such as flash, thin walls, and uneven distribution to curb quality downtime.Adjust machine pressure and timing to meet specification and production speed goals.Inspect and weigh finished parts; apply precision measurement tools to verify specifications.Perform minor mechanical repairs and routine maintenance on tooling and machinery.Record production data, downtime, and material usage with accuracy and completeness.Train Maintenance and Setup teammates; be the technical resource others count on.Partner with Maintenance, Production, and Quality to boost uptime and process capability.Deliver thorough end-of-shift handoffs to Production and Scheduling; complete end-of-shift reports.Maintain maintenance logs and update equipment records in CMMS (MaintainX).Support equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.Communicate clearly with peers and operations leadership when issues arise.Practice and promote LOTO, GMP, and PPE standards; model safe behaviors.What sets you up for success3–5+ years in manufacturing with hands-on blow molding experience.Sharp mechanical troubleshooting skills; adept with hand tools.Working knowledge of plastics/polymers and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.Fluent with manuals, blueprints, and schematics; vigilant about quality and precision.Experience with CMMS and preventive maintenance scheduling (MaintainX preferred).Self-directed, collaborative, and proactive.Comfort with physical work: lifting molds; bending, twisting, and climbing.Willing to work overtime when needed.Rewards & growthCompetitive pay up to $33.50/hr DOE, plus overtime opportunities.Health, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with company match.PTO and 10 paid holidays per year.A team that values your input and celebrates craftsmanship.Equipment you’ll runInjection Molding MachineBlow Molding MachinePreferred backgroundPlastic Extrusion ExperienceTool/Die/Mold Setup ExperienceIn this role, you are accountable for food safety, food quality, and site safety.Let’s build something great together.
