The State of Wisconsin’s Division of Milwaukee Child Welfare (DMCW) in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an Operations Program Associate (Case Aide). Starting salary is $22.76 per hour. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States; the Department does not sponsor visas.

This position is headquartered at our DMCW Office (635 N 26th St, Milwaukee, WI 53233).This position is required to work primarily in the office, with field work, Monday through Friday.Work hours can be either 8:00 am – 5:00 pm or 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. The exact hours will be discussed in interviews and finalized when the new hire comes on board.

Position Summary

The Operations Program Associate (Case Aide) in the Bureau of Child Protective Services provides case assistance and support to Initial Assessment Specialists.The Case Aide may schedule and/ortransport children and/or caregivers to appointments and provide supervision and care to children of varying ages, summarize or transcribe information into reports, review files and compile “discovery” for court. In addition, Case Aides assist in the field with case noting, observation, telecommunication, identification and provision of supplies and/or community resources for individuals or families. The Case Aide may be required to travel to locations located in high risk, disadvantaged, or underserved neighborhoods.

The classification title for this position is Operations Program Associate . The starting salary is $22.76 per hour .Pay for current State of WI employees will be based on the compensation plan in effect at the time of the appointment. Pay for current state employees who are transferring will be determined based upon the pay on transfer rules (higher level duties or equity) as outlined in the compensation plan in effect at the time of appointment.

Due to the nature of the position, final candidates may be required to allow DCF to conduct a security background check to determine whether the circumstances of any pending charges or convictions would be substantially related to the job being filled.

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DCF sponsorship.) The Department of Children and Families does not sponsor visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.

Qualifications

You must possess a valid driver's license AND have the ability to meet the minimum State Department of Administration fleet standards, including but not limited to those listed below:

  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must have a minimum of two years licensed driving experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Minimally qualified applicants will have:

  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Experience communicating verbally and in written format in a clear, concise and effective manner.
  • Experience maintaining and managing records to include compiling, scanning, and uploading documentation into computer systems.

Well-qualified applicants will have:

  • Experience, education or training working with families in a child welfare-related work setting.
  • Experience, education or training in working with diverse populations (which may include families, parents, and children).
  • Experience handling stressful situations and/or de-escalating situations.
  • Experience working in eWisacwis or similar case management software programs
  • Experience handling sensitive / confidential information and/or documentation.
