Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Research Scientist to lead inhalation toxicology research at the Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton, OH. You will design studies on environmental and occupational exposures, work with a multi-disciplinary team, and contribute to proposals, reports, and peer-reviewed articles.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Toxicology or a related scientific field with specialized study in inhalation, pulmonary and/or respiratory toxicology.
• Extensive experience proposing and conducting original research with animal models and toxicology studies.
• Strong writing and communication skills for proposals, reports, and publications.
• Ability to obtain Secret Clearance (US Citizen).

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct scientific research on inhalation toxicology with rodent models.
• Develop exposure systems and toxicant generation for exposure studies.
• Perform statistical analyses (T-tests, ANOVA, regressions) using SPSS/SAS/SigmaPlot.
• Prepare mission-relevant proposals and technical reports for Navy research.
• Lead and coordinate project activities, meetings, and timelines.
• Educate and supervise entry-level personnel in project tasks.
