Job summary

University of Iowa Health Care, Holden Cancer Center Chemo Infusion Suite, seeks a 100% Patient Care Technician to assist the nursing team in outpatient care areas under direct supervision. Responsibilities include vital signs, asepsis, basic procedures, patient mobility, and daily comfort.

This is a full-time, on-campus position with merit-based scheduling and benefits. The role involves 40 hours per week with 8- to 10-hour shifts, Friday–Monday, no holidays, and training on weekdays.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Independently obtain and record vital signs (temp, pulse, resp, BP).
• Perform asepsis practices including phlebotomy, IV removal, Foley care as directed.
• Perform basic diagnostic/therapeutic procedures (enemas, prep, dressings, specimen collection).
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Provide for patient comfort and personal hygiene.
• Turn, position and assist ambulation; transport patients/equipment.
• Assist with meals and monitor intake/output.
• Participate in nursing conferences and report pertinent information.
