Job summary

Providence Portland Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver professional, comprehensive nursing care in our oncology clinic or infusion center. Working with a preceptor initially and taking increasing responsibility, you will provide coordinated, safe, compassionate care tailored to each patient’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

You will practice under the Nurse Practice Act in Oregon and follow ANA codes and standards.

Qualifications

• RN with nursing degree/diploma required.
• Valid Oregon Registered Nurse license upon hire.
• Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association upon hire.
• BSN is encouraged to obtain within 3 years of hire.

Job description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an oncology clinic or infusion center environment. Working with a preceptor initially and assuming increasing responsibility, the RN 1 is accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan. Practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice. Key functions and specific skills for the job are found in the unit specific checklist an in standards that are applicable to the specialty.
