Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as RN; BSN preferred.
• Two years RN experience in infusion area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient before, during and after IV therapy.
• Determine venipuncture site and maintain intravascular access.
• Monitor for infections, adverse reactions and complications; initiate emergency therapies.
• Initiate, monitor, and terminate therapies including medications and blood products.
• Provide direct patient care per nursing protocols; monitor vital signs frequently.
• Educate patients and families on IV treatment and post-discharge care.
• Document all patient-directed activities.
