Metro Infusion Center Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse to work every other weekend at the clinics located in Overland Park, KS, and Lee's Summit, MO. The ideal candidate will have excellent IV skills and will provide patient education and management under physician supervision.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license.
• At least 2 years RN office practice experience, preferably infusion.
• Infusion experience required.
• Chemo experience preferred but not required.
• Proof of current vaccinations, including boosters for immunocompromised care.

Responsibilities

• Access peripheral lines and train patients on self-administration.
• Review daily labs and communicate results to physicians and patients.
• E-prescribe and manage refills per physician order.
• Handle patient calls and EMR documentation for next day’s appointments.
• Coordinate with physicians for procedures and tests.
• Maintain records in EMR and ensure compliance with standards.
• Administer immunizations and TB screening per guidelines.
• Support nursing standards and safety in practice.

Metro Infusion Center Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse to work every other weekend at the clinics located in Overland Park, KS, and Lee's Summit, MO.

• *Candidate must be willing to work at all of the clinics listed above

Ideal candidate will have excellent IV skills (PICC certified preferred, but not required). This position offers the high-tech infusion nurse the ability to utilize skills in an office setting and competitive pay.

Under the supervision of the Practice Physicians, the Infusion Staff nurse would provide clinical nursing services and support, including patient education and patient management for their assigned group of physicians.

Schedule

Every other weekend - 26 weekends a year that includes 2 holidays (plus the holiday weekend)

Duties

• Access Peripheral Lines; teach infusion patients how to self-administer medications. Document same in Medical Record.
• Review and chart daily laboratory results, passing information on to physicians and/or patients as needed.
• E-prescribe new prescriptions and refills at doctor’s order and communicates to pharmacies.
• Receive and return patient and other’s telephone calls.
• Review EMR charts for next day’s appointments, order lab results, consult reports or notes as necessary and document all required fields are within EMR to be eligible for meaningful use.
• Respond to telephone calls, meet patients in the office on weekends, and schedule patients to come to the office as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities as requested.
• Use clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs establishing priorities.
• Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility.
• Arrange for daily coverage with co-worker.
• Assist and consult with the physician in the ordering of procedures and diagnostic tests.
• Order laboratory tests for patients per provider’s order or standing order. Perform follow-up on abnormal labs and medication refills as instructed.
• Maintain patient records, billing documentation and all other administrative records, documentation and correspondence in practice’s EHR as required.
• Administer immunizations, TB screening, medications and blood draws consistent with current guidelines and established protocols.
• Support professional practice by observing the following: Use knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by Practice Physicians and Practice Administrator.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Current RN license
• At least (2) two years RN office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice
• Infusion experience
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.
