Job summary

Amerita, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Compounding to join the City, State branch in Irving, TX. You will assist pharmacists in preparing sterile and non-sterile infusions and maintain compliance with USP 797/800 standards.

The role requires aseptic technique, strong math and documentation skills, and the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. A license, IV certification (preferred), and 1–3 years of related experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved/accredited Pharmacy Technician training program; IV certification preferred.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician license in state of practice.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification as required by state board of pharmacy.
• 1–3 years of related pharmacy experience in home care, retail or pharmacy setting.
• At least 1 year of aseptic preparation of infusion-related pharmaceuticals in hospital or home infusion setting preferred.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work on-call evenings and weekends.
• Basic pharmacy knowledge of reading and interpreting prescriptions.
• Ability to work independently, accurately and efficiently.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and schedules the preparation of sterile mixtures and home medical equipment orders with the assistance of the Pharmacist.
• Completes all calculations on product preparation as necessary.
• Compounds sterile mixtures and non-mixtures, including parenteral nutrition, antibiotics, chemotherapy, hydration and narcotic analgesics, using aseptic technique where state laws permit.
• Ensures compounding/clean room areas and related equipment are cleaned, sanitized and maintained per policies and USP 797/800.
• Documents all activities on appropriate logs.
• Participates in branch management, department and intra-departmental meetings and quality improvement activities.
• Adheres to accreditation, OSHA, FDA, state, local and federal regulations, and USP 797/800 standards relevant to infusion pharmacy and home medical equipment.
• Documents temperature logs, pressure and humidity monitors, records all sterility testing in the clean room.
• Documents all activities on logs.
• Other duties as assigned.
