Job summary

Providence Health & Services is seeking an Pharmacy Technician Access Services Representative for an onsite role at the Halsey Building in Northeast Portland. You will validate insurance benefits, obtain pre-authorizations for home and ambulatory infusion therapy, and manage referrals for Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services Home and Infusion Suite.

The role demands collaboration with pharmacists, infusion nurses, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Oregon Pharmacy Technician License or Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician required.
• 2 years experience with insurance verification, medical claims processing, insurance member enrollment or customer service.
• 2 years experience as a pharmacy technician in a specialty setting (Infusion, LTC or Specialty Pharmacy), or 3 years in outpatient setting.
• 2 years experience with computers in data entry.

Responsibilities

• Provide insurance benefit validation and obtain authorizations for home and ambulatory infusion therapy.
• Process all new referrals for Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services Home and Infusion Suite; obtain orders and documentation.
• Verify insurance eligibility/benefits, assist with copay and financial assistance; monthly re-verification of active patients.
