Job summary

City of Hope in California seeks a Nurse Supervisor to provide clinical and administrative leadership for infusion services. You will oversee RNs, LVNs, Sterile Processing Technicians, and Medical Assistants, while staying medically engaged to promote workflow efficiency and patient satisfaction.

This role supports Nurse Manager, ensures compliance with policies, participates in staffing, training, budget, and quality initiatives, and mentors staff to deliver safe, high-quality oncology care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing required (or nursing diploma/ADN for internal applicants).
• CA Registered Nurse license required.
• Minimum 3 years RN experience.
• BLS certification (AHA).
• ONS Chemo/Bio Certification (within 6 months of hire).
• OCN certification (within 1 year of hire).
• Experience overseeing ambulatory oncology clinics and multidisciplinary teams is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinic operations and patient flow in partnership with Nurse Manager.
• Direct supervision of RNs, LVNs, Sterile Processing Technicians, and Medical Assistants.
• Assist with staff scheduling, timekeeping, and coverage planning.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, orientation, training, and competency validation of clinical staff.
• Promote a collaborative, professional, and accountable team culture.
• Participate in budget monitoring, supply management, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and infusion therapy standards.
• Monitor infection control, sterile processing, and medication safety protocols.
• Provide clinical guidance and problem-solving for complex patient care.
• Participate in hands-on patient care related to infusion therapy and vascular access.
• Respond to adverse reactions and emergencies per protocol.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, audits, and performance plans.
• Review incident reports and assist in root cause analyses when appropriate.
• Ensure EMR documentation accuracy and regulatory readiness.
• Mentor staff to promote growth and clinical excellence; coordinate ongoing education.
