Job summary

Metro Infusion Center (Affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants) seeks a licensed Nurse Practitioner to supervise and administer infusion therapy on a PRN basis at the Prescott, AZ clinic.

The ideal candidate will have infusion experience, APRN credentials, and the ability to cover clinics as needed while maintaining high standards of patient safety and care. Vaccinations up to date and chemo experience are a plus, with a flexible schedule and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Licensed APRN with Nurse Practitioner credentials.
• Infusion experience preferred.
• Chemo experience preferred but not required.
• Vaccinations up to date as required for immunocompromised patients.

Responsibilities

• Place and maintain IV catheters for infusion therapy with ongoing assessment.
• Prepare medications for IV administration as ordered.
• Administer IV therapy via electronic pump or gravity/dial-a-flow.
• Document infusion charting in the EMR system.
• Address patient questions/concerns within scope of practice.
• Exercise clinical judgment to meet patient care needs.
• Monitor safety of environment and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with the facility staff.
• Cover clinics as directed by the Manager of Clinical Operations.
• Adhere to nursing standards and applicable laws.

Specific Duties:

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy needs with ongoing assessment of IV site.
• Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered.
• Administer IV therapy via electronic pump with troubleshooting of pump alarms and/or administration via gravity/dial-a-flow tubing.
• Document infusion charting and patient message(s) in EMR system.
• Addressing patient's questions or concerns related to adverse effects/side effects, diagnosis, treatment etc. within scope of Mid-level provider.
• Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs establishing priorities.
• Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility.
• Agree to cover any clinic as needed per direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations.
• Supports professional practice by observing the following: Uses knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned

• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
• Nurse Practitioner experience, preferably in an infusion related setting
• INFUSION EXPERIENCE
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.
