Job summary

HOUSTON CENTER FOR INFECTIOUS DISEASES PA is seeking qualified nursing staff to provide infusion and related care to patients. The role includes placing peripheral IVs, monitoring responses, and implementing physician orders with careful adherence to safety protocols.

You will also manage central venous access devices where required, educate patients and caregivers, respond to emergencies, and communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and health care teams as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides infusion and other nursing care to patients
• Placing Peripheral IV as needed
• Manages central venous access devices
• Takes professional responsibility for self-protection during required work in potentially hazardous situations (handling of blood and body fluids.)
• Patient and caregiver teaching
• Implementation of physician orders
• Monitoring patient response
• Response to emergency patient needs
• Communicates to physician and other health care providers, as appropriate, any changes in the patients’ condition.
