Job summary

Black Box is seeking an Infrastructure Technician in Houston to install and service copper and fiber optic cabling systems, including structured cabling across Cat3, Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optics. You will diagnose, repair, and upgrade cabling infrastructure, and coordinate with operations to complete projects efficiently.

You will also maintain documentation, manage equipment, support emergency service requests, and participate in safety programs.

Qualifications

• Install and service copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
• Evaluate, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair cabling infrastructure.
• Perform upgrades and additions to existing cabling infrastructure.
• Install and remove cabinets, racks, cable tray systems, and related communications infrastructure.

• Maintain accurate work documentation, time reporting, material usage records, and project status updates.
• Request and manage equipment and supplies required for project completion.
• Support emergency service requests and after-hours work to meet customer SLAs.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment to customer locations.
• Participate in meetings, workshops, training, and safety programs.
• Achieve performance metrics and KPIs established by leadership.

Evaluate, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair cabling infrastructure systems.

Perform upgrades and additions to existing cabling infrastructure.
