Golden Valley Electric Association in Fairbanks is seeking a Systems & Network Engineer to design, implement, secure, and maintain the technology infrastructure that powers Interior Alaska. You will support enterprise and industrial networks, servers, virtualization, cloud services, and cybersecurity for reliable grid operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Progressive experience in systems administration and network engineering.
• Valid Alaska driver's license.
• Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, routing, switching, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, and network security.
• Experience with Windows and Linux server environments.
• Familiarity with virtualization, storage, cloud technologies, and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, intrusion detection, vulnerability management.
• Experience with industrial control systems/SCADA/AMI is preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to lead projects.
• Relevant certifications (Cisco, Microsoft, Red Hat, Oracle) preferred.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, secure, and maintain IT infrastructure supporting operations.

• Troubleshoot issues, monitor performance, assist in disaster recovery, and plan for technology upgrades.
• Progress through Engineer I-IV levels with increasing responsibility.
