Job summary

The HT Group is seeking an Infrastructure Systems Administrator in San Marcos to design, implement, and optimize our server and infrastructure environments. You will monitor health, manage backups, enforce security, and collaborate with IT leadership to ensure reliability and performance across production, development, and test systems.

This role requires 3–5 years of systems administration, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and hands-on experience with Windows Server, VMware, cloud platforms,

Qualifications

• Experience with server and infrastructure administration in Windows and Linux environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex technical problems with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and interpret technical docs and diagrams.
• Travel; willingness for after-hours support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and support physical and virtual servers.
• Monitor performance and capacity; address issues before they impact operations.
• Troubleshoot production server and infra issues; after-hours support when needed.
• Participate in capacity planning and lifecycle management.
• Maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies; test restores.
• Enforce security standards and patch management.
• Create deployment and configuration documentation.
• Develop automation scripts to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal users, vendors, and teams.
• Stay current with tech knowledge through training.
• Travel occasionally as business requires.
