Job summary

X4 Technology is seeking an Infrastructure Solutions Architect for a 2 year project. This remote role with limited site travel requires designing scalable, resilient infrastructure across distributed platforms and multiple sites.

You will establish patterns, standards and high-level designs for cloud, on-prem, and edge deployments. The candidate should have proven experience in infrastructure architecture, virtualization, hybrid cloud tech, disaster recovery and containerization.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing complex enterprise infrastructure solutions.
• Strong knowledge of virtualisation, hyperconverged infra, compute & storage.
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments and disaster recovery planning.
• Ability to produce architecture docs, reference designs & standards.
• Familiarity with containers/Kubernetes and IT/OT environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end infrastructure architecture for distributed platforms.
• Develop reusable architecture patterns and high-level designs for deployments across sites.
• Assess technologies across virtualization, compute, storage, containers and hybrid cloud.
• Establish workload placement strategies across edge, on-premise and cloud.

Job Title: Infrastructure Solutions Architect

Contract Length: 2 Year Project (6 monthly rolling)

Location: Remote with very limited travel to site throughout

Infrastructure Solutions Architect - Role & Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end infrastructure architecture for distributed platforms, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient and aligned with business requirements.
• Develop reusable architecture patterns, technical standards and high-level designs for infrastructure deployments across multiple sites.
• Assess and recommend suitable technologies across virtualisation, compute, storage, containers and hybrid cloud environments.
• Establish workload placement strategies across edge, on-premise and cloud platforms, considering performance, security, availability and operational needs.
• Work closely with network, security, application and operational teams to validate designs, resolve technical challenges and maintain architectural consistency.

Infrastructure Solutions Architect - Required Experience

• Proven experience as an Infrastructure Solution Architect, Platform Architect or similar, designing complex enterprise infrastructure solutions.
• Strong technical knowledge of virtualisation, hyperconverged infrastructure, compute, storage and hybrid cloud technologies.
• Experience designing highly available platforms, including disaster recovery, resilience and business continuity considerations.
• Ability to produce architecture documentation, reference designs, technical standards and design decisions for complex environments.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or containers, infrastructure automation and distributed environments; experience in manufacturing, industrial edge or IT/OT environments would be advantageous.
