Job summary

Notion is seeking an IC4 Infrastructure Security engineer to own end-to-end secure infrastructure problems for our cloud stack. You will identify risk, design pragmatic controls, and ship secure defaults that scale across engineering teams.

The role emphasizes AWS security, IAM, and collaboration with cross-functional partners to improve security posture and incident response capabilities. This position is based in SF or NYC with in-person Anchor Days.

Qualifications

• Security architecture and expertise: built and maintained secure cloud architectures.
• Backend/infrastructure development: written and shipped production-grade code with secure design.
• Working in production: debug and improve components with minimal disruption.
• Pragmatic, risk-based prioritization: model threats and balance trade-offs.
• Empathetic communication: clear writing and in-person collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Proactively enhance the security posture of our AWS accounts and cloud infrastructure.
• Create secure frameworks for secrets management and authentication/authorization.
• Design and deploy robust Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
• Provide guidance and education on security and privacy best practices to cross-functional partners.
• Participate in mitigation strategies during security-related incident response.
