Job summary

The City of Somerville is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead municipal infrastructure projects including sewer, streetscape, and utility work. You will manage scope, schedule and budget while coordinating designers, contractors, and city staff.

This role requires a Civil/Environmental Engineering or Management degree with 3–5 years of related experience; a PE license is preferred. Hybrid work schedule with occasional evening meetings and field site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or Management with 3–5 years of related work experience.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Valid Class D driver’s license (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, design and construction of municipal utility projects including roadway, sidewalk, water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.
• Coordinate and monitor consultants, contractors, and city staff to meet quality, schedule and budget goals.
• Review design standards and ensure regulatory compliance across projects.
• Prepare program budgets, schedules, and cost estimates.
