Job description

Role Overview

Infrastructure Project Management is redefining strategic execution at Cboe—transforming how Global Infrastructure delivers innovation through disciplined intake, transparent roadmaps, and relentless accountability.

The Infrastructure Project Manager partners with engineering teams across Global Infrastructure to deliver complex technical initiatives. This is not a generalist PM role—success requires genuine technical fluency across infrastructure domains and the ability to engage credibly with engineers on architecture decisions, deployment strategies, and operational tradeoffs.

Projects span the full infrastructure stack including data center strategy, network architecture, platform modernization, enterprise systems, automation, observability, and security initiatives. The person in this position serves as the central point of coordination for projects spanning multiple infrastructure domains—translating complexity into clear plans, aligning competing priorities, and driving accountability from kickoff through production deployment.

Location

Cboe HQ is located in the historic Old Post Office district in Chicago.

Responsibilities

  • Document lessons learned and apply them to improve project outcomes
Qualifications
  • The drive to take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks. You communicate honestly—even when the news isn't great—because that's how trust gets built. You're comfortable navigating organizational complexity and know when to invoke escalation. Engineers respect you because you understand their constraints and earn credibility through competence.
  • Experience: 3–7 years of project management experience in technology or infrastructure environments, with a track record leading engineering teams through complex technical projects
  • Domain Knowledge: Hands‑on experience with infrastructure domains such as network engineering, data center operations, systems administration, or enterprise platforms
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical status for diverse audiences
  • Project Management Expertise: Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools—Atlassian and Microsoft Suites, AI Tools, experience operating within a structured project management organization with defined processes

  • Project Management Professional certification (PMP)
  • Experience in financial services or other regulated industries
  • Experience with data center migration or infrastructure buildout projects
