Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Business, Public Administration, Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management field.
• 1 year of experience in managing construction-related activities or capital improvement projects.
• 1 year of experience with supervisory/project management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs project coordination, oversees permitting processes, and maintains open communications for various infrastructure and related construction projects occurring within the City; facilitates communication and collaboration between all parties.
• Facilitates and oversees the delivery of accurate building inspection review and permitting process; leads and supervises plans examiners across engineering, zoning, permitting, and related areas.
• Participates in team review meetings for multi-million dollar utility projects; identifies roadblocks and coordinates testing/documentation prior to implementation.
• Sets schedules and expectations for staff; trains on coordination issues; responds to inquiries regarding contract procedures or project status.
• Reviews plans and plats for zoning compliance; verifies zoning plans; administers permits; processes backflows, covenants, easements, and fire tests as needed.
• Reviews, evaluates, and ensures contract compliance with city standards for private development; manages insurance documents and related forms; checks contract values against engineering plans; evaluates contracts for water/wastewater, paving, drainage, etc.
• Manages work sites ensuring safe operations and effective communication; prepares project timelines and supports overall management.
• Attends meetings to discuss construction issues and coordinate with stakeholders for project implementation.
• Performs other work as needed.
