Job summary

Mizuho is seeking an Infrastructure Platform Engineer to join our Infrastructure Platform Engineering (IPE) team in New York. You will help modernize our container platform and automate Linux/Unix infrastructure using Ansible, Terraform, and OpenShift/OpenShift-based tooling.

You will design scalable IaC standards, contribute to platform roadmaps, and work across Cloud and Core Infrastructure to deliver secure, reliable, and self-service capabilities for engineering teams in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• 4–6 years in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or platform roles.
• Experience with OCP or Kubernetes in hybrid environments.
• Solid containerization, security, and scale principles.
• Hands-on Linux/Unix engineering: config, patching, lifecycle.
• Experience with Ansible or AAP: write and maintain playbooks and workflows.
• Familiar with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps and Git workflows.
• Exposure to VMware or VCF private clouds and automation pipelines.
• Strong cross-team collaboration and communication.
• Passion for automation and developer/operator experience.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Support the firm's container platform (OCP) for scalability and reliability.
• Contribute to OpenShift platform roadmap input.
• Evaluate new tools for infrastructure modernization with risk focus.
• Define platform roadmaps, IaC standards, automation, and self-service.
• Develop and support infrastructure pipelines and Terraform modules.
• Build Ansible workflows and execution environments for automation.
• Administer Linux/Unix environments with patching and hardening.
• Write and maintain infrastructure automation artifacts.
• Collaborate with Cloud and Core Infra to ensure secure, scalable solutions.
• Document solutions and share knowledge to improve engineering culture.
