Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer (Infrastructure) to support the Starbase facilities and GSE for a high-volume rocket factory. You will work on MEP design and coordination for diverse projects, partnering with multiple teams to define requirements and produce detailed drawings.

This role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, field coordination, and lifecycle management from concept through close-out, with opportunities to grow in a demanding, frontier environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or structural engineering.
• 1+ years of experience creating construction documents (plans, elevations, sections, details).

Responsibilities

• Lead MEP design and coordination for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Partner with cross-departmental teams to define requirements and derive design details.
• Prepare and review design drawings and documents for mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems.
• Manage construction activities related to MEP systems and ensure code compliance.
• Use construction knowledge to expedite design and resolve field conflicts.
• Write and manage construction contracts with subcontractors.
• Perform project control tasks including scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
• Coordinate with customer and facilities teams for building operations post-construction.
• Coordinate permit acquisition/closeout with permitting team.
