Job summary

Impulse Space in California seeks a Manager, IT Engineering & Infrastructure (AI&T) to lead the design, implementation, and operation of infrastructure platforms that support integration, test, and engineering environments.

You will oversee labs, test networks, compute platforms, and related services, guiding a team of engineers and partnering with AI&T and engineering teams to ensure scalable, secure, and time-sensitive operations for mission readiness.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or related domains.
• Experience designing and operating infrastructure in lab, test, or engineering environments.
• 2+ years of leadership or team management experience.
• Strong background in networking, systems, and platform engineering.
• Proven ability to deliver scalable, reliable infrastructure solutions.
• Experience with deterministic or time-sensitive systems.
• Experience operating in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
• Aerospace, manufacturing, or test environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute infrastructure strategy for integration, test, and engineering environments.
• Oversee architecture and lifecycle management for networks, compute, storage, cloud, and lab infrastructure.
• Lead automation, infrastructure-as-code, and platform engineering initiatives.
• Establish monitoring, observability, incident response, and root cause analysis practices to ensure operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, zero-trust architecture, regulatory requirements, and secure engineering data management while collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors.
• Onsite leadership supporting lab and operational environments.
• Accountability for infrastructure readiness during test campaigns.
