Job summary

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is seeking an Estimating Intern for Summer 2027 in Lone Tree, CO. You will join the estimating group supporting design-build infrastructure projects across disciplines including civil, geotechnical, and roadway domains.

The role involves reviewing contract documents, quantity takeoffs, and collaborating with engineers and estimators to provide constructability input. Travel may be required and base pay is competitive for interns.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• GPA above 3.0 preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong math and computer skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively.
• Work independently as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and interpret Contract Documents (RFP, specifications, etc.).
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing of design-build projects in the infrastructure market.
• Coordinate with estimators and engineers/designers for constructability input and value engineering.
• Participate in Task Force Meetings, brainstorms, and working sessions with estimators and engineers/designers.
• Identify, quantify, and communicate risk throughout the estimating process.
• Perform site visits as needed.
