Infrastructure Engineering

Location: Remote in the United States

Target Dates: June - August 2025

Hours: 29 hours per week

Compensation: $20/hr

Responsibilities:

1. Support Infrastructure Projects:
   • Assist in planning, development, and deployment of infrastructure projects.
   • Work under the guidance of senior engineers to ensure project goals are met.
2. System Maintenance:
   • Help monitor and maintain existing infrastructure for optimal performance and uptime.
   • Participate in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
3. Network Management:
   • Assist in configuring and managing network components such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
   • Monitor network performance and security.
4. Documentation:
   • Maintain and update technical documentation, including configurations, processes, and procedures.
   • Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
5. Automation and Scripting:
   • Learn and assist in creating scripts to automate tasks.
   • Support infrastructure automation and orchestration efforts.
6. Security and Compliance:
   • Assist in implementing security measures to protect infrastructure.
   • Help ensure compliance with policies and standards.
7. Collaboration and Communication:
   • Work closely with team members and departments to support IT initiatives.
   • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Technical Skills:
  • Basic understanding of network protocols and services.
  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux, or Unix operating systems.
  • Experience with Debian or Ubuntu is a plus.
  • Scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Experience:

• Previous or coursework in IT infrastructure or system administration is beneficial but not required.
