The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Subject-Matter Expert (SME) Infrastructure Engineer focusing on Virtualization to support complex IT services and strategic mission systems for Nuclear Planning and Execution System (NPES). This role requires advanced expertise in infrastructure design, implementation, and management to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of critical systems. The work location for this position is Omaha, Nebraska. The position is contingent upon award of the United States Strategic Command SCITLS contract.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage virtualization technologies and environments to optimize IT infrastructure and resource utilization.
Configure and maintain virtual machines and manage hypervisors.
Integrate virtualization solutions with existing IT systems and services to ensure seamless operation and interoperability.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtualization infrastructure, including performance and connectivity problems.
Assist with the integration of site-specific hardware, firmware, and software into the RBS baseline.
Assist with the design and implementation of virtualization systems and network improvements as required.
Help to identify redundant systems and excessive operational costs that do not significantly impact system availability and security.
Provide technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
Possess domain and expert technical knowledge.
Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) as required by mission needs.
Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership to meet mission requirements and support USSTRATCOM objectives. Depending on experience and team structure, this role may involve working under direct supervision or potentially providing guidance, training, or supervision to others.
Qualifications:
BA/BS + 10 YRS in a related field.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
