Position Overview

The Infrastructure Engineer II position proves support to the design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of our hybrid infrastructure. This includes on-premise environments, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.), and Microsoft 365. This role requires a basic understanding of compute systems, a proven track record of technical implementation, and some ability to drive efficiency through automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of cloud technologies and automation tools.

This position may be eligible for the possibility of remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Implementation and Support:

• Implement and support scalable, secure, and resilient hybrid infrastructure solutions.
• Assist in the evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies to optimize infrastructure performance and efficiency.
  
  
  

Cloud and Collaboration Support:

• Implement and support both premise and cloud-based solutions to support critical business applications and services.
• Provide technical support for on-premise Windows and Linux server environments, ensuring alignment with best practices and security standards.
• Implement solutions to optimize on-premise infrastructure performance and reliability.
  
  
  

Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

• Participate in the implementation of IaC principles and automation strategies across the infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain standards for Terraform and Ansible deployments.
• Assist in the development and implementation of automation frameworks to streamline infrastructure provisioning and management.
  
  
  

Technical Support and Collaboration:

• Provide technical support to infrastructure engineering teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure alignment.
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing for infrastructure-related projects.
• Assist as a Subject Matter Expert for infrastructure-related projects as needed.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and/or Training:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, business or related field of study required.
• Master's degree preferred.
  
  
  

Minimum Experience:

• Minimum requirement: Two (2) years of IT experience with experience in infrastructure operations and engineering environments.
• Basic understanding of hybrid infrastructure environments, including on-premise and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) is a plus.
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
  
  

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78,000 - $139,360 per year for the role of Infrastructure Engineer II.
