Job description

Network Engineer

Location: Orlando, Fl (onsite)

Duration: 12 months

Compensation: $ 40.00- $ 45.00 per hour

Work Requirements: U.S. Citizen, GC Holders, or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on network professional who combines technical networking knowledge with ownership, communication, and sound judgment. They should be able to lead assessments, engage vendors in technical discussions, understand licensing requirements, and determine where costs can be optimized.

Key responsibilities
  • Network assessments: Assess network projects, evaluate requirements, and determine the appropriate technical solutions.
  • Licensing ownership: Understand licensing models, SKUs, billing, and the features required for each project.
  • Vendor coordination: Work with vendors on technical assessments, scoping, and deployment planning.
  • Cost optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce licensing costs without sacrificing necessary functionality.
  • Technical communication: Lead conversations, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and adapt to changing project needs.
  • Network deployment and support: Assist with implementations, including occasional hands‑on installation work.
  • Candidate needs the technical knowledge to discuss licensing, assess requirements, and recommend the right options, rather than negotiate commercial terms
Prioritize candidates who have:
  • 4–6 years of network engineering or infrastructure experience.
  • Experience with Fortinet, Cisco, and/or Meraki
  • Worked through the lifecycle of network projects, from assessment and scoping through licensing and deployment.
  • Enough licensing knowledge to distinguish necessary features from unnecessary costs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead technical conversations.
  • Willingness to perform occasional hands‑on installations.
  • Zscaler experience—even in a home lab—is a useful differentiator, and expired CCNA certifications should not disqualify an otherwise strong candidate.
  • Experience with Modern networking concepts
  • Experience with Network licensing, SKUs, and billing
  • Experience with Network assessments, scoping, and deployments
  • Experience with Firewall management
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with Deployment methods and approaches
Certifications
  • CCNA: Preferred; expired certifications are acceptable.
  • CompTIA Network+: Preferred.
  • Security-focused certifications are also beneficial.
Physical requirements
  • Lifting approximately 25 lbs.
  • Climbing onto trains for installations, approximately 10 feet off the ground.
  • Using lifts and working in elevated installation environments.
