Job summary

Itezz Inc. is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to implement, maintain, and enhance diverse research infrastructure systems across Linux/Windows and cloud environments.

The role requires security clearance or eligibility (TS/SCI) and involves testing components, resolving issues, and advising on system design. Candidates should have DoD 8570 IAT II baseline certification and one of NGFE or AWS certifications, plus several years of related experience in networking, virtualization, and cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline; 5 years infrastructure experience may substitute for degree.
• Must meet DoD approved 8570 Baseline Certification for IAT Level II.
• Must possess at least one vendor certification: NGFE or AWS.
• Six years of infrastructure engineering experience with network troubleshooting, cloud technologies, and AWS platforms.

About the Role

Infrastructure Engineer implements, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse research infrastructure systems (e.g., multi‑purpose hosting, virtualized environments, big data analytic systems, cloud environments, real‑time systems, business management information systems, logging and monitoring systems, hardware, active directory, Linux/Unix‑Windows‑or OSx‑based, storage area networks (SAN), LAN and WAN networking, and other infrastructure‑related components) based upon documented requirements. Work independently or as part of a research team. Review and test infrastructure components for adherence to the design requirements and document test results. Resolve reported system issues. Utilize infrastructure engineering and research design methodologies appropriate to the development/test/production environment. Provides specific input to the component system design to include hardware/software trade‑offs, system reuses, use of Commercial Off‑The‑Shelf (COTS)/Government Off‑The‑Shelf (GOTS), and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual system components with particular emphasis on complex networking topics.

Due to federal contract requirements, United States citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g., Active TS/SCI security clearance with customer appropriate polygraph).

Capabilities

• Performs tasks in IT and telecommunications projects in at least one of the following areas: Windows or Linux server system administration (e.g., 2K3, 2K8, various Linux flavors), integrating GOTS/COTS/open‑source solutions, virtualization technology experience (e.g., VMWare, Zen, Citrix, KVM), networking and TCP/IP protocols (e.g., CISCO, Juniper), storage technologies (e.g., SAN, NAS, Fiber Channel, iSCSI, NFS), remote access (e.g., Juniper SSL VPN), or other IT infrastructure technologies.
• Performs system integration, system administration, or network engineering tasks.
• Contributes to the development of sections of IT and telecommunications systems.
• Demonstrated work delivery in areas such as IT and telecommunications systems.
• Design and deliver solutions.
• Ability to work complex research projects as senior contributor and as part of an integrated research team.
• Strong communication skills and experience working directly with customers.

Required Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Agency Appropriate Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related discipline. An additional five (5) years of infrastructure experience on projects with similar engineering processes may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
• Must meet DoD approved 8570 Baseline Certification for IAT Level II.
• Must possess at least one (1) of the following vendor certifications:
  • Palo Alto Networks Next‑Generation Firewall Engineer (NGFE).
  • AWS Certified Security.
• Six (6) years experience in infrastructure engineering is required including experience as shown in a, b and c below. Experience in a, b, and c below may run concurrently.
  • a. Two (2) of those years to include experience with network troubleshooting of complex issues, such as IPSec, VXLan, Virtual Firewalls, Load Balancing and DNS.
  • b. Two (2) of those years to include experience in commercial cloud technologies including Azure, Google Cloud, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) or thin client architectures.
  • c. Two (2) of those years to include experience with Amazon Web Services platforms and solutions.

Salary Range

$100,000.00 - $300,000.00 (Annually). Annual Compensation Figures listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; annual hours worked; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location.
